Suzuki may not be that strong a force to reckon with as it was more than a decade ago but the Japanese two-wheeler is still one of the prolific brands when it comes to big bikes. The Hayabusa being the perfect example to justify the same. The company has shared a teaser on its social media handles hinting at the unveiling of a new motorcycle.
However, the teaser doesn’t reveal anything significant about the product apart from the date of unveil, i.e., 31 July 2025. The only substantial detail seen in the clip is the background setting of the Suzuki Circuit followed by the rider walking on the pit lane. This indicates that the upcoming model is most likely to be a high-performance motorcycle.
New Suzuki big bike on cards: What could it be?
Now, Suzuki isn’t new to big bikes. In fact, about a week ago, the bikemaker updated its range of big bikes including the GSX-8S, SV650 ABS, GSX-R750, GSX-R600, DR650S, Burgman 400 and the GSX-8R to name a few. Given the setting of the teaser, we’d assume that it would be another product in the GSX lineup, most likely a litre-class.Â
Our bet is on a new GSX-R1000 that has remained off the shelves in several markets. Although the market for litre-class superbikes has shrunk in recent years, unless you’re a Ducati or a BMW, there’s no iota of doubt that Suzuki has one of the best engineering teams in the world that has produced gems — both for roads as well as tracks – for several decades.
If indeed it’s the new GSX-R1000, we still can’t confirm if it will be for the consumers or not. It could very well be a PR stunt prior to revealing its experimental entry into the Suzuka 8 Hour race, which kicks off next month. The race is set to feature motorcycles running on 100 percent biofuel this year, a serious upgrade from the 40 percent sustainable biofuel used last year. It’ll be interesting to see what Suzuki has in store for us.
Suzuki other updates
As mentioned earlier, Suzuki updated a host of its big bikes this month. The most notable of these was the GSX-8R. The updated sports bike now comes with forged aluminium bars that are set lower, but not too low to make it too track-focused. Alongside the signature Metallic Triton Blue, the new GSX-8R will also come in Pearl Tech White and Glass Blaze Orange shades. The colours also get new graphics to go along with them.
