Suzuki has unveiled the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT motorcycles, expanding the GSX lineup in the segment. Speculated to be touring motorcycles, Suzuki has got us all by surprise with the two new models that sport a retro look, inspired by older Suzuki models. Here’s a more detailed look at the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT.
Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT — Mode details
The two new Suzuki motorcycles sport a classic, retro look, inspired by Suzuki’s motorcycles from the early days. The Suzuki GSX-8T sports a round headlight, drawing inspiration from the 1960s T500 “Titan”. The Suzuki GSX-8T sports a wide handlebar and bar-end mirrors.
The Suzuki GSX-8TT, on the other hand, features a similar design but gets a headlight fairing and a belly pan, drawing its inspiration from the 1970s race bikes. Apart from these two key differences, both motorcycles share a lot in common, including their cycling parts.
Speaking of cycling parts, the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT feature USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch alloy wheels, three ride modes, traction control, quickshifter, and all-LED lighting.
Powering both motorcycles is a familiar 776cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that powers the GSX-8S, GSX-8R and V-Strom 800 DE models. The engine makes 83bhp and 78Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki GSX-8T tips the scale at 201kg, while the Suzuki GSX-8TT weighs 203kg. That said, given that Suzuki sells the V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8S in India, the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT could arrive on our shores.
