Suzuki Gixxer that’s on sale since September 2014, will receive a rear disc version on April 15, 2016. The Gixxer rear disc version was showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo along with Gixxer SF-Fi & Gixxer SF rear disc.
The naked bike is currently one of the top-selling 150cc bikes in the country, and the company aims to further consolidate its position in the segment with the launch of new variant. Since it will just be a rear-disc version of the existing bike, there will be no cosmetic changes made to it.
The Suzuki Gixxer disc version will retain the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder engine that does duty in the regular Gixxer and SF variants. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine is claimed to return a maximum power output of 14bhp against 14Nm of peak torque. The bike measures 2050mm in length, 1030mm in height, 785mm in width and comes with 100/80-70 front & 140/60R-17 rear tyres.
After the Gixxer Disc variant, the company has plans to bring in the fuel-injected version of the Gixxer SF. Though that might happen sometime in the second half of this year.
