Suzuki has confirmed that the electric version of the Burgman will be officially showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show which will begin from the end of this month. The e-scooter is being currently tested in India and many spy photos have also surfaced on the Internet. Suzuki has categorically stated that the prototype will be unveiled at the motor show and the company is still collecting data on other commuter electric two-wheelers.
Suzuki e-Burgman: What is it?
The e-Burgman is based on its 125cc petrol version and the dimensions are expected to be more or less the same. According to reports, the e-scooter’s height and saddle height remain identical at 1,140mm and 780m respectively. Due to the lithium-ion battery, the e-scooter weighs 147kg, 37kg heavier than the petrol avatar.

Suzuki e-Burgman: Specs and range
The e-Burgman is expected to take the battery-swapping route like the Hero Vida V1. The Suzuki scooter has a power output of 4kW, which is quite decent as the TVS iQube churns out 4.4kW and the Bajaj Chetak at 4.1kW. According to reports, the e-Burgman offers a range of 44km when ridden at 60 kmph. Now this is very low when compared to its competition which claims a range of around 100km. One has to keep in mind that the Suzuki e-scooter is a prototype and the production version will be a lot more range.
Suzuki e-Burgman: Competition
The e-Burgman is expected to be targeting the commuter segment like Hero, Bajaj and TVS. Hence, it will take on Vida V1 Pro, which is priced at Rs 1.34 lakh, Chetak at Rs 1.27 lakh and iQube starting from Rs 1.24 lakh, all Delhi prices.
