Suzuki is preparing to launch its first electric two-wheeler in the form of eAccess. First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year, the eAccess is about to get launched in the next couple of weeks. Ahead of its launch let us look at some of key expectation from the upcoming electric scooter:
Suzuki e Access: Expected Design
The design of the Suzuki eAccess is nothing like its petrol-powered namesake. It’s a classic case where a manufacturer is trying to utilise the name of its most famous product to get more traction on the new product. features sharp design lines with a raked front, flat side panels, a large footboard, and a flat seat. The headlight is nestled within the cowl of the handlebar whereas the apron features twin LED position lamps.
The overall design is a lot sleeker and simpler than the petrol-powered Access 125. The e-ACCESS will be available in three dual-tone colour options – Metallic Mat Black No.2/ Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White/ Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray and Pearl Jade Green/ Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray.

The eAccess comes equipped with a decent set of features including keyless entry, a colour TFT intrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation with real time traffic alerts, LED headlight, tailight, and winkers, USB charging port, side-stand interlock system, and tip-over detection.

In terms of hardware, the Suzuki eAccess sits on telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking hardware comprises disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. The scooter rides on 12-inch front and rear wheels.
Suzuki e Access: Powertrain
Powering the Suzuki eAccess is a 3.07kWh LFP battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 95km, with an energy consumption rate of 39Wh/km. This battery supplies energy to a 4.1 kW electric motor that dishes out 15 Nm of torque. Suzuki claims a top speed of 71 kmph. There are three distinct drive modes to choose from—Eco, Ride A, and Ride B, Ride C.

We expect Suzuki eAccess to be priced around the Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, putting it up against entry-level high-speed electric scooters.
