Steelbird Helmets, has officially announced the launch of its latest product — the Vintage 3.0 Series. This open-face helmet range draws inspiration from the classic motorcycling styles of the 1970s, while integrating contemporary features to meet the evolving requirements of today’s riders.
With the steady rise in popularity of cruiser motorcycles and urban scooters across Indian roads, the Vintage 3.0 Series is positioned as a stylish yet practical solution that caters to both city commuters and highway enthusiasts. The new helmet line aims to bridge the gap between heritage design and present-day performance, offering a refined balance of aesthetics, safety, and rider convenience.
Emphasis on Safety and Functionality
The Vintage 3.0 helmet incorporates several technical enhancements designed to elevate the riding experience. At its core is an innovative screw-free Quick Release Mechanism, which allows users to seamlessly alternate between a retro peak and a full-face visor without requiring any tools. This adaptable design ensures both aesthetic appeal and rider protection, making the helmet suitable for a wide variety of riding conditions.
To further enhance utility and rider customisation, the Vintage 3.0 is compatible with Steelbird’s proprietary 3-in-1 mask system. Additionally, a rear elastic strap holder has been integrated into the design to secure riding goggles, thereby supporting both style and functional requirements.
From a safety standpoint, the helmet meets dual certification standards — ISI and DOT, ensuring compliance with both domestic and international safety benchmarks. The high-impact ABS outer shell offers robust external protection, while the high-density EPS liner is engineered to absorb and disperse impact forces effectively.
For added comfort, the interior comprises breathable mesh fabric and removable, washable cheek pads, promoting hygiene and prolonged usability. The optical-grade polycarbonate visor ensures enhanced visual clarity, along with UV protection and scratch resistance, making it ideal for various light and weather conditions. A micrometric quick-release buckle system, tested to withstand up to 225 kg of force, aligns with stringent European norms, reinforcing Steelbird’s commitment to rider safety.
Custom Fit with Premium Styling
The Vintage 3.0 Series is available in three shell sizes — Medium (580 mm), Large (600 mm), and Extra Large (620 mm) — thereby offering a tailored fit for diverse rider profiles. The helmet is offered in a palette of 15 vibrant colours, including distinctive shades such as Sea Blue, Coral Peach, Cherry Red, Battle Green, Armada Blue, and Glossy Black, enabling riders to express their personal style.
The series is priced competitively, with the base variant starting at Rs 1,299, offering exceptional value in its segment. Optional upgrades such as smoked visors and colour-matched peaks are also available, with the top-end variant priced at Rs 1,599. With its retro-modern styling, certified safety features, and user-focused design, the Vintage 3.0 is positioned as one of the most versatile and premium offerings in the open-face helmet category.
Commenting on the launch, Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director, Steelbird Helmets, stated: “At Steelbird, our aim is not only to manufacture helmets but to craft products that reflect the identity and spirit of modern riders. The Vintage 3.0 is a tribute to motorcycling heritage, seamlessly integrating timeless design with cutting-edge safety and comfort features.”
