Royal Enfield has been on a roll with new launches such as the Bear 650, Classic 650, and the all-electric Flying Flea. The company has also been in the news for upcoming products and for increasing the engine capacity of the twins to 750cc soon. Now, Royal Enfield has similar plans for the 411 engine as per a report by BikeWale, and the engine is set to see an increase in displacement and debut in the updated Scram 411.
Royal Enfield 440cc engine — What is it?
Royal Enfield is planning on giving the 411 air-cooled engine a bump in power, which currently powers the Scram 411. The company has plans to make the bore bigger, thus increasing the cubic capacity of the engine from 412cc to 440cc, while it will still remain an air-cooled unit. With the increase in displacement, the power is expected to go up, along with torque.

Royal Enfield 440cc engine — The new Scram 440
Royal Enfield currently has one motorcycle powered by the 411 engine — the Scram 411. The motorcycle has been on sale for three years now and the updated engine will debut on the Scram. The motorcycle is a perfect take on a Scrambler design but with more focus on city usage.
With the updated engine, the Scram 440 will also see tweaks done to its chassis, probably strengthened to hold a larger engine. As per the report, Royal Enfield has also worked on the chassis to make it more city-friendly. The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, which is powered by a liquid-cooled 450cc engine will take over the role of being a proper scrambler.
The updated Royal Enfield Scram 440 launch is expected sometime in 2025, while it will also see a marginal price hike. The motorcycle is expected to get an updated instrument cluster, along with revised colour options to keep up its aspirational value. When launched, it will compete with the Honda CB 350 RS and the Triumph Scrambler 400X amongst other motorcycles in the segment.
