Royal Enfield managed to pull not one, but two tricks from its hat this time at Motoverse — the first being the Himalayan’s pricing and the next by launching the limited edition Shotgun 650. The Shotgun 650 is the fourth motorcycle with the 650cc engine and will be a limited edition run, priced at Rs 4.35 lakh, ex-showroom. Here’s all you need to know about the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.

Platform and design

The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is based on the same chassis as the Meteor 650, however, there are a few changes such as the rake of the front suspension and different wheels, changing the overall geometry of the motorcycle when compared to the Meteor.

Styled as a bobber, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 features a tank similar to the Classic but looks a lot sleeker. The motorcycle features a single seat and twin peashooter exhausts, however, the most eye-catching aspect is the paint job. The hand-painted motorcycle will be limited to just 25 units.

Engine specifications

Powering the motorcycle is the same tried and tested 649cc parallel-twin air-cooled engine that does its job on the Interceptor, Continental GT, and Meteor 650. The motorcycle is expected to have the same state of tune as the Meteor 650 and make 47bhp and 52Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The exhaust is expected to have a throaty note, given the exhaust design and expect Royal Enfield to offer a host of accessories with the motorcycle. We can also expect a host of aftermarket accessories from protection to performance parts.

Equipment and features

On the equipment front, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 features USD forks made by Showa, twin rear shocks, alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, a round instrument cluster, bar-end mirrors, LED lighting all around, and blacked-out engine components.

It is unclear as to what the regular production version will look like or feature, but components such as the suspension and wheels will be the same. The limited edition Motoverse edition features a single seat, and the pillion seat is an optional extra, however, we expect dual seats on the production version of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.
