With three premium models– Interceptor, Continental GT and Continental GT— already on sale– Royal Enfield is further expanding its flagship 650cc lineup. The next in line is the Shotgun 650.
First introduced as the pre-production concept SG650 at EICMA 2023, the Shotgun made its maiden appearance as a fully production model at the recently concluded Royal Enfield Motoverse. Last week, Royal Enfield officially unveiled the Shotgun 650 for the global markets. Ahead of its launch, expected early next year, let us look at all major highlights from Royal Enfield’s upcoming 650cc bobber.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Design
Shotgun 650 has retained most of its styling elements from the SG 650 concept with a contemporary bobber styling. It gets signature Royal Enfield elements such as a round headlamp, circular turn indicators, a teardrop shaped fuel tank, minimal side panels, thick front forks, and twin peashooter exhaust mufflers. Enfield says its modular design lets it transform from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater.

Based on the 650cc Twin platform, Shotgun gets a similar low-slung stance as Super Meteor but a tighter front rake and a shorter wheelbase than the latter. Other visual highlights include a gloss black engine cover, spoked alloy wheels, shortened front and rear fenders, and a wide, flat handlebar. The production-sec Shotgun 650 will be available in four colour schemes namely Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Features
Shotgun gets the same equipment as the Super Meteor 650 with contents like a semi-digital instrument console, Tripper Navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED illumination, and a USB charging port. It also benefits from the new Royal Enfield Wingman app that provides information regarding live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders and more.

Royal Enfield says the Shotgun 650 is ideal for those who love to customise their bikes. Therefore, the Chennai-based bikemaker will offer as many as 31 accessories under the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories (GMA) programme.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Hardware specs
The Shotgun 650 chassis sits on 43mm Showa big piston front upside down forks, and twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the rear. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch front alloy wheels while braking duties are carried out by 320mm front and 300mm rear disc brakes aided by dual-channel ABS.

Powering the Shotgun 650 is the same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine which is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. This motor pumps out an identical 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. Like the Super Meteor, the Shotgun 650 weighs a hefty 240 kg (1 kilo lighter). It has a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres.
