Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 owners have received some unwelcome news as the company has sharply increased the price of spoke wheels when chosen as an optional feature. What was once a reasonably priced upgrade has now become significantly more expensive, causing surprise and frustration among existing owners.
Previously, the tubeless spoke wheels were priced at Rs 12,424, but Royal Enfield has quietly raised the cost to a staggering Rs 40,645 more than three times the original price. This steep hike is a tough pill to swallow for current Himalayan 450 riders who might have been considering this upgrade or replacement.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Steep price hike for tubeless spoke wheels Â
Royal Enfield launched the much-awaited tubeless spoke wheels option as an accessory in September last year. The wheels were available from October onwards, and Himalayan owners could upgrade their wheels by paying only Rs 12,424, while new buyers could pick up a set for Rs 11,000. Unfortunately, upgrading your existing Himalayan is going to cost you a whopping Rs 40,645. The rims continue to be available in three colours — black, black olive and gold.
Royal Enfield, initially offering wired spoke tyres for export, now introduces tubeless spoke rims in India. These rims enhance adventure riding, enabling easy navigation on tough terrains. Punctures can be quickly fixed with a patch, no tyre removal needed, and tubeless tyres allow low-pressure riding for better traction without damage risks.
