Gone are the days when Royal Enfield used to offer bare bones motorcycles in the market. With the new generation models, Enfield looks to establish its presence across global markets and hence, as a result, the recent motorcycles from the bikemaker are more rich in tech.
The latest addition in the company’s tech armoury is a new connected vehicle solution named Wingman. Launched initially in the Super Meteor 650, this new feature will make its way to other models in Royal Enfield’s lineup later. Currently, it is being offered to consumers in India only.
Compatible with iOS and Android smartphones, it is supported by telematics hardware and can be operated through the RE app. This feature costs an additional Rs 6,500 over the ex-showroom price and going forward it will be offered as a standard fitment in Super Meteor 650.

Commenting on the launch of the new feature, B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield said, “At Royal Enfield, we constantly strive to enhance the riding experience for our customers. Royal Enfield Wingman is a significant step in this direction, providing riders with a more connected and safer experience. It complements our commitment to offering premium quality and innovative solutions to our riders.”
Royal Enfield Wingman features
Wingman provides real-time information about the motorcycle’s health to the rider through an interactive dashboard in the Royal Enfield app. Using this feature, the rider can get critical updates about fuel level, battery status, engine on/off status, and service alerts thereby ensuring he or she is always aware of their motorcycle’s condition.
Further, when the phone’s GPS is enabled, it allows location tracking, last parked location tracking and walk-to-my-motorcycle feature. It provides the rider insights of the daily rides, riding patterns, trip information such as the ride routes, max speed, average speed etc, including sudden braking and sudden acceleration notifications.
Another big addition is the 24×7 GRID support with real-time guidance and vehicle alerts. With this, a rider can contact a team of full-fledged customer support in case he/she is likely to encounter a technical snag with their motorcycle or any other assistance that may be required during the ride anytime and anywhere in the country.
