The launch of the Royal Enfield 650 twins put RE on a global map like never before. The success goes to the Interceptor 650, which is one of the best-selling twins for the bike maker and after a long time, the Interceptor is finally getting an update. The updated Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 was seen for the first time and the bike gets some much-needed changes.

Updated Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 — What does it get?

Going by the spy shots, the updated Royal Enfield Interceptor retains its overall design of being a retro-themed motorcycle with minimal bodywork. On closer inspection, the front forks on the motorcycle seem larger, suggesting updated suspension, while the turn indicators are now circular LED units along with the tail lamp.

The next big change is the instrument cluster, which is now a circular unit— it could be the TFT display seen on the Himalayan. That said, the updated Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 sports twin front discs with axially mounted callipers, which will improve the motorcycle’s braking.

The updated Royal Enfield Interceptor will retain its familiar engine, a 650cc, oil and air-cooled twin-cylinder engine that makes 47bhp and 52Nm of peak torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is seen with updated exhausts as well. The motorcycle is expected to be showcased at EICMA and expect Royal Enfield to offer a wide range of colour options with the updated motorcycle.
