Royal Enfield always has plenty on its plates since the company continuously keeps developing new models or upgrading existing ones. There have been murmurs of Enfield developing a new 750cc platform. A recent report sheds more light on the development of a new flagship line of Royal Enfield motorcycles.
According to Autocar India, Royal Enfield is working on a larger 750cc engine platform – codenamed ‘R’, which we understand has been derived from the existing 650cc platform. The report reveals that the first model based on the new 750cc platform will be a new Continental GT which will hit the Indian roads by the end of the ongoing FY2026 financial year.
Internally codenamed R1E, the new Continental GT 750 will come with a faired body inspired by the fighterjet planes as seen in the original British cafe racers from the 1960s. Rumoured to be called Continental GT-R, test mules of this upcoming fully-faired cafe racer have been spotted on multiple occasions in recent months.

Royal Enfield Continental GT-R: What we know?
There are no official details regarding the engine at disposal as of now but it is confirmed that it will carry forward the same parallel-twin construction as the current 650cc range with a lot more output on offer than the current 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque. Spy images have also revealed a twin exhaust setup for the new Continental GT. It will also be heavier than the existing Continental GT 650.
Hence, to counter the additional power from the engine and the increased weight, the upcoming 750cc Continental GT will benefit from dual front disc brakes. This will provide better stopping power to the faired cafe racer. The Continental GT R will be followed by other 750cc models like Interceptor, Super Meteor, and other models, however, it can’t be confirmed at this point if the existing 650cc lineup will continue or not.
The current 650cc range of Royal Enfield motorcycles are powered by a 648cc parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine that puts out 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Other details about the bike will be revealed later this year as its launch nears.
