Royal Enfield Classic 650 officially breaks cover at EICMA 2024

The Classic 650 is based on the Shotgun 650 and the Super Meteor 650 and the bookings will begin from January 2025 in India.

The highly anticipated Royal Enfield Classic 650 was officially unveiled at EICMA 2024 in Milan. The manufacturer has opened bookings in the UK and Europe, while they will begin in India in January 2025.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: Design

The Classic 650 is built on the same mainframe as the Super Meteor and the Shotgun 650. This new 650 cc motorcycle retains the iconic design of the Classic 350, which is the company’s most successful model. It features a traditional round LED headlight with ‘tiger lights’ or pilot lamps, a sleek teardrop-shaped tank, and a single seat, with an optional pillion seat available. Powered by a parallel twin engine, the new Classic 650 will have a twin exhaust, similar to its other 650 cc counterparts, excluding the Bear 650.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: Hardware

The Classic 650 features a steel tubular spine frame and is equipped with 43 mm telescopic front forks that offer a wheel travel of 120 mm. The rear suspension consists of twin shock absorbers with a wheel travel of 90 mm. This new motorcycle shares components with the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650 models. It is fitted with a single 320 mm disc brake in the front and a 300 mm disc brake in the rear. The seat height is 800 mm, the ground clearance is 154 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 14.8 litres.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: Features and Engine

The Classic 650 features all-LED lights, a Type-C charging port, and adjustable brake and clutch levers. Royal Enfield has maintained the semi-analogue display from the Classic 350, which includes a speedometer and a multi-information display that shows a digital fuel gauge, gear indicator, odometer, and clock.

This motorcycle is powered by a 647.95 cc inline twin-cylinder engine, producing an output of 46.3 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with an assist clutch. The Classic 650 also brings back the popular colour schemes of the Classic 500, including Teal, Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, and Black Chrome.
