Royal Enfield unveiled the Classic 650 at EICMA 2024 in November last year. The 650cc Classic has been in development for a long time and test mules of the same have been spotted on numerous occasions over the past couple of years. The motorcycle was supposed to launch by the end of this year.
The launch was postponed and now the Chennai-based manufacturer has announced that the Classic 650 will hit the market on 27 March 2025. When launched, it will be the sixth Enfield model in the lineup after Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, Shotgun, and Bear.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Design
Some dealers across India have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for the Classic 650. This new 650 cc motorcycle shares its mainframe with the Super Meteor and Shotgun 650 while retaining the iconic design of the Classic 350, the company’s most successful model.

The Classic 650 features a round LED headlight with ‘tiger lights’ or pilot lamps, a sleek teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a single seat, with an optional pillion seat available. It is powered by a parallel-twin engine and comes equipped with twin exhausts, similar to other 650 cc models, except for the Bear 650.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Features
The Classic 650 comes equipped with all-LED lighting, a Type-C charging port, and adjustable brake and clutch levers. Royal Enfield has retained the semi-analogue display from the Classic 350, featuring a speedometer along with a multi-information display that includes a digital fuel gauge, gear indicator, odometer, and clock.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Hardware
The Classic 650 features a steel tubular spine frame and is equipped with 43 mm telescopic front forks that offer a wheel travel of 120 mm. The rear suspension consists of twin shock absorbers with a wheel travel of 90 mm. This new motorcycle shares components with the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650 models. It is fitted with a single 320 mm disc brake in the front and a 300 mm disc brake in the rear. The seat height is 800 mm, the ground clearance is 154 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 14.8 litres.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Powertrain
Powering the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is a familiar 648cc parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine performing duties in the rest of the Royal Enfield 650cc lineup. This motor churns out 46.4 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque while being paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
