Ola Electric has officially launched its first electric motorcycle Roadster X at a starting price of Rs 74,999 (ex-showroom). This comes shortly after the launch of the new-gen S1 range of electric scooters last week. Prices for the Roadster range of battery-powered bikes were revealed in August last year, however, the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturing startup hasn’t delivered a single unit now.
With the official announcement made today, deliveries of the Roadster X are expected to commence in mid-March. Production of the Ola Roadster X began earlier last month at the company’s Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The Roadster X is further classified into two lineups: X and X+. Prices for each variant of the Roadster X range are mentioned below.

Ola Roadster X, Roadster X+: Design
The Ola Roadster X, much like Ola Electric scooters, sports a futuristic design with a minimalist aesthetic and sharp, edgy body panels. The battery pack is positioned beneath the faux fuel tank, which also offers a small storage compartment for essentials. Key design elements include a sleek rectangular LED headlamp cluster with an integrated DRL, a flat single-piece seat, and a single-piece pillion grab rail.

Overall, its styling resembles that of a modern entry-level commuter motorcycle. Ola is offering the Roadster X and Roadster X+ in five colour options namely Ceramic White, Pine Green, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Anthracite.
Ola Roadster X, Roadster X+: Features & Hardware
On the features front, the Roadster X comes equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, LED lighting for the headlamp, taillight, and turn indicators, as well as advanced functionalities like cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation via Ola Maps, reverse mode, OTA updates, a digital key, and a DIY mode. Safety features include a tyre pressure monitoring system, geo and time fencing, tow and theft detection, emergency SOS, and a vehicle locator.

When it comes to hardware, Ola Roadster X is underpinned by a double-down tube chassis which sits on conventional telescopic front forks and a double coil rear suspension. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and a rear drum brake. The electric motorcycle rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Ola Roadster X, Roadster X+: Powertrain specs
The Ola Roadster X gets the choice of three battery packs: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. All three variants are powered by a 7 kW electric motor which pumps out 9.4 bhp. The Roadster X can reach a top speed of 118 kmph and can sprint from 0-40 kmph in 3.1 seconds. The top-spec 4.5 kWh battery variant promises a range of 252 km on a single charge.

On the other hand, the Roadster X+ gets two battery options: 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh. The Roadster X+ gets a 11 kW motor that pumps out 14.75 bhp, can clock a top speed of 125 kmph, and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.7 seconds. The 4.5 kWh variant offers a range of 252 km while the 9.1 kWh battery with the 4680 Bharat Cell claims a mammoth range of 501 km on a single charge.
