Bengaluru-based EV startup, Oben Electric, has unveiled its next big move—the O100 platform, designed to disrupt the mass-market 100cc equivalent motorcycle segment. Built at Oben’s R&D hub in Bengaluru, this new platform represents a major step in making electric mobility affordable and scalable for India’s daily commuters.
The 100cc segment forms nearly 30% of the country’s two-wheeler market, and Oben aims to make a mark by introducing electric motorcycles priced under Rs 1 lakh. With this initiative, Oben intends to offer a viable alternative to petrol-powered bikes in both urban and rural India.
The O100 platform is modular and future-ready, supporting multiple variants and battery configurations. It integrates Oben’s proprietary LFP battery technology along with in-house developed components such as motors, chargers, and vehicle control units (VCUs). This vertical integration not only ensures cost efficiency but also enhances product reliability and performance.

Affordable EVs Built for India’s Mass Commuters
According to Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, the O100 platform is built to address the “real-world mobility challenges” faced by Indian commuters. She emphasized that the new platform is engineered to deliver reliability, affordability, and utility without compromising on safety or technology.
Oben Electric’s first two offerings: Rorr and Rorr EZ based on the company’s first electric motorcycle platform called ARX, catered to the premium commuter segment with good performance, advanced LFP battery, design and superior range. The new O100 architecture will focus more on affordability and economy.
Oben Electric is also scaling its footprint aggressively across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities, aiming to surpass 100 showrooms by year-end. The O100 platform is expected to significantly boost dealership ROI and sales throughput. With plans to launch motorcycles based on the O100 platform in the second half of 2025, Oben is positioning itself as a serious contender in the electric mobility space, targeting mass adoption in the world’s largest two-wheeler market.
