New Norton V4 spotted testing — First motorcycle after TVS acquisition

For the enthusiasts, one brand rings a bell like no other — Norton. The troubled company was acquired by TVS, and Norton teased its upcoming motorcycle a few days ago. Now, the company has shared more pictures of the motorcycle, being ridden by TVS’ top man, Sudarshan Venu.

Upcoming Norton V4 details

The upcoming motorcycle will be the first launch after TVS took over the reins. The Norton V4 will make its debut later this year at EICMA, and going by the pictures, there is a lot to look forward to.

Starting with the design, the new Norton V4 motorcycle gets an aggressive styling, with sleek headlights and DRLs. The riding position also seems committed, and Norton clearly wants to let competitors know that it means business.

The motorcycle is seen suspended on USD forks, which are expected to be fully adjustable, gets a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, and 17-inch wheels. The motorcycle is expected to have a long list of electronic aids to take on competition in the segment.

As of now, information on the upcoming Norton V4 is limited, and so are the details regarding the engine capacity and the power figures. However, the engine will come mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quick shifter.

Norton V4 India launch plans

The new Norton V4 is expected to come to India, however, at a much later stage, after TVS has resurrected the Norton brand abroad and has set the brand rolling in India. For the domestic market, Norton will begin with smaller displacement motorcycles to compete with the Triumph 400 range and the KTMs.

The new sub-500cc Nortons will be built at TVS’ factory in Hosur, which will also build the upcoming BMW 450cc twin-cylinder motorcycles. The first of them will be the F 450 GS, which is expected to go on sale this year, and hopefully soon followed by a street naked. The same engine will also power TVS motorcycles. That said, TVS has just launched the updated Apache RTR 310 in India and our review on the same drops soon.
