The wait is over and KTM has finally announced prices for the new 390 Adventure range, which includes the Adventure X and the Adventure. There is no S. The new 390 Adventure X is priced at Rs 2.91 lakh, while the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure is priced at Rs 3.67 lakh, both ex-showroom. So here’s how the two motorcycles differ in terms of features, equipment, and with their engine performance.
2025 KTM 390 Adventure vs Adventure X — Key differences
Let’s get the visual differences out of the way first. The new 390 Adventure X gets two colour schemes – White and Orange – and they are based on a black combination, while the new 390 Adventure gets the same colour options, but the mix is between white and orange itself, without the black. They both feature the same rally-inspired looks with a tall windscreen, high-mounted front fender, and a single seat.

The next difference comes with the equipment they carry — both motorcycles feature 43mm USD forks with 200mm travel, however, the Adventure X gets no adjustability while the Adventure gets compression and rebound damping. The rear gets a 10-step adjustable monoshock on both motorcycles.

The next difference is the wheels as the Adventure X gets a 19-17 setup with cast alloy wheels while the Adventure gets a 21-17 setup with wire-spoke wheels. They both feature 227mm of ground clearance while the saddle height on the 390 Adventure X is 225mm and the 390 Adventure is 5mm taller at 830mm.

KTMs have always featured a long list of electronic aids and the new 390 Adventure X gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console along with electronic nannies such as Off-road ABS, Ride-by-wire, Quickshifter+, and a Slipper clutch. That said, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure gets cruise control, switchable MTC, cornering MTC, and three riding modes – Street, Rain, and Off-Road – along with cornering ABS, on top of the features on the 390 Adventure X.

In terms of engine specifications, the two motorcycles share the same powertrain, a 399cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is the same unit that powers the 2024 KTM 390 Duke, which will eventually make it to the new RC 390 as well.
