KTM has unveiled its flagship adventure motorcycle, the 2025 1390 Super Adventure R, powered by the new 1350cc V-twin that made its debut on the Duke earlier this year. KTM has not revealed the pricing of the motorcycle, however, it will be one of the most premium offerings from the Austrian brand and will take on the BMW R 1300 GSA.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R — What’s new?
The biggest talking point is the engine — the 1350 liquid-cooled V-twin makes an eye-watering 173bhp and 145Nm of torque. The engine is mated to KTM’s new semi-automatic gearbox and variable Camshift technology, which KTM claims helps deliver strong mid-range power. Apart from the larger engine, there are no notable changes mechanically or in terms of styling, apart from a shorter screen for better off-road visibility.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R — What’s carried forward?

The overall styling of the motorcycle has been carried forward, along with the subtle changes to the bodywork that was seen with the 1390 Super Adventure S and 1390 Super Adventure S Evo. A few differences are mechanical, as the new 1390 Super Adventure R gets 48mm manually adjustable USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The off-road-focused 1390 Super Adventure R does not get the semi-active suspension.
Other hardware includes Brembo brakes at both ends, 220mm of suspension travel, an 8-inch TFT instrument console with phone connectivity, ride modes, and a long list of electronic aids for both road and off-road. The updated motorcycle will go on sale in Europe next year, however, KTM launching the new 1390 Super Adventure R in India any time soon is unlikely.
