Kawasaki has unveiled a special edition model of the Eliminator 400 for the Japanese market, called the ‘Plaza Edition’. The new Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition gets added features and improved aesthetics to make it stand out from the regular model, while also getting an interesting quirk that no other OEM offers. Let’s take a closer look.

New Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition: What’s new?

As mentioned earlier, the Kawasaki Eliminator Plaza Edition is all about better looks and added features. In the aesthetics department, the motorcycle features a maroon shade, which is not common for a Kawasaki. The dual tone finish of maroon and black make the motorcycle stand out, giving it a fresh look.

Moving on to the features, the new Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition gets a USB type C charging port, which is a first for the motorcycle. However, the most interesting feature is the addition of a GPS-enabled dual camera system, which is a first for any OEM to offer on a motorcycle. This works similarly to a dash cam in a car.

Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition: Specifications

The motorcycle is based on the same chassis as the regular Eliminator 400, and is suspended by telescopic front forks and dual shocks at the rear. The motorcycle rides on alloy wheels and gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Other features include LED lighting, traction control, turn-by-turn navigation, and a fully digital instrument panel with smartphone connectivity.

Powering the motorcycle is a 451 cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 44.7 bhp and 42.6 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, and Kawasaki offers no quickshifter option with the motorcycle. Although a special edition model, the Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition does not get any special hardware in terms of suspension, nor does it get any mechanical changes.

The Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Plaza Edition coming to India is unlikely, and the motorcycle is specific to the Japanese market. In India, the Eliminator is one of the two cruisers the company sells, the other being the Vulcan. In India, the Eliminator is sold in a single black colour option and competes directly with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 in terms of power and performance.
