After launching the new R 1300 GS and GSA in India and teasing the new 900, the motorcycle maker has launched the new F900 twins in India. The new BMW F900 GS is priced at Rs 13.75 lakh, ex-showroom, while the BMW F900 GS Adventure(GSA) carries a price tag of Rs 14.75 lakh, ex-showroom.
The two versions of the BMW F900 GS have two characteristics and are purpose-designed for various tasks. While one may do the other’s work, it is better to pick the right GS depending on their intended purpose. Here’s how they differ from each other.
New BMW F900 GS

Starting with the F900 GS, the motorcycle is designed to be more off-road focused. BMW has reworked the ergonomics of the F900 GS compared to the older F850 GS, giving it a better riding position and making it more roomy. The motorcycle has also lost weight compared to the older model and gets a narrower seat, better suited for off-roading.
The F900 GS gets a 14.5-litre fuel tank, weighs 226kg, gets a 21-17 wheel setup, USD forks, ABS, heated grips, TFT dash, adjustable brake and gear lever, hand protection, dynamic traction control, off-road tyres, cruise control, and more.
New BMW F900 GSA

The F900 GSA is more touring-focused but with the capability to go off-road. The F900 GSA is priced a lakh higher than its GS sibling and features a much larger fuel tank, a 23-litre unit. The 900 GSA looks larger in proportion and is heavier as well, tipping the scale at 246kg. Other comfort and electronic features remain the same as the 900 GS, including the suspension setup and wheel sizes.
Coming to the main bit, the engine. Both motorcycles, the F900 GS and the GSA are powered by an n853cc, liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that makes 105bhp and 93Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
