With numerous updates over the past one year, Bajaj is clearly betting big on its Pulsar range of motorcycles. The Chakan-based bikemaker recently launched its new flagship the Pulsar NS400Z at a price of Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a segment disruptor. The next new Pulsar is expected to be offered at the entry-level point.
It was previously reported that Bajaj will launch a new 125cc Pulsar in the market which has been spied on a few occasions recently. The same has now been spotted testing on the roads once again. As of now, there are two 125cc Pulsars on offer— the classic Pulsar 125 and the Pulsar NS125.
New Bajaj Pulsar 125cc: Styling
The latest spy shot reveals a partially camouflaged test unit with sharp and sporty styling. The bike is seen wearing a blue colour scheme with sharp side panels along with a sleek tail section, a single-piece grab rail, a split-type seat, and a rear tyre hugger. Although the front end isn’t visible in the latest spy image, earlier spy shots suggest an aggressive headlamp cowl in sync with the new-gen Pulsars like N150, N160 and N250.
All the above details suggest that the upcoming model will most likely be called Pulsar N125. Hardware details which can be deciphered from the image include telescopic forks, a monoshock, a box-type swingarm, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear-set footpegs, a disc-drum brake setup, and a tubular single-piece handlebar.
On close inspection, it is found that the rear wheel is missing ABS ring, therefore, it is most likely be equipped with CBS (Combined Braking System). Other notable features on offer should include a fully-digital LCD screen, Bluetooth connectivity for calls and text alerts, and a USB charging port.
New Bajaj Pulsar 125cc: Expected engine specs, price & launch
Another point of contention is the engine on offer. We expect Bajaj to offer the same 124.5cc, air-cooled motor as seen in the Pulsar NS125. This motor pushes out 11.82bhp and 11Nm of peak torque while being linked to a five-speed gearbox. We expect the new 125cc Pulsar to be priced around Rs 90,000 to Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). Bajaj is likely to launch this new 125cc Pulsar around the upcoming festive season later this year.
