Aprilia has unveiled the updated RS125 and Tuono 125 for the global markets. The updates to the two entry-level motorcycles from Aprilia include mechanical changes and cosmetic updates. Before we get into the updates, the two motorcycles may never make it to India, as they are built outside and the Italian two-wheeler maker will not be able to price them competitively here.
New Aprilia RS125 and Tuono 125 — What are the updates?
The updates on the new Aprilia RS125 and the Tuono 125 are primarily related to their engines — they are now compliant with Euro5+ emission norms. Powering the RS125 and the Tuono 125 is a liquid-cooled 125cc single-cylinder engine. The motor makes 15bhp and 12Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed manual gearbox.
The next update is cosmetic and they are the colour options. The Aprilia RS125 gets two new colours: Kingsnake White and Cyanide Yellow, while the Aprilia Tuono 125 comes in Viper Yellow and Mamba Grey colour schemes.
Apart from the changes mentioned above, the two motorcycles carry forward the same LCD instrument cluster, the USD front forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with ABS, LED lighting, and 17-inch wheels. The new Aprilia RS125 and the Tuono 125 get traction control as standard and even get an optional quickshifter.
