TVS is one of the leading players in the electric two-wheeler segment in India with the iQube range recording decent sales volume on a consistent monthly basis. The company widened its range with the launch of the X, a more premium electric scooter, which officially broke cover in 2023, however, there’s still no clarity as to how many units have been delivered till date.
It has now been learnt that TVS is working on a more affordable entry-level electric scooter. According to Autocar India, the new budget-friendly electric scooter will most likely sit below the iQube and is expected to launch before the festive season.

Currently, prices for the TVS iQube range starts from Rs 1 lakh for the base variant with a 2,2 kWh battery and goes up to nearly Rs 2 lakh (both ex-showroom) for the range-topping ST trim with a 5.1kWh battery. The new electric scooter will be a sub-Rs 1 lakh offering with simpler components, fewer features, and most probably a smaller battery pack.
Specific details regarding the upcoming battery-powered scooter are scarce at the moment but it is expected that it will utilise a simple hub-mounted electric motor like the entry-level variants of iQube which is sourced from Bosch. This will further ensure costs are kept in check. Range will be around 70-75 km which means it will suffice to those looking for a scooter for short daily commutes.
We still don’t know what this new electric scooter will be named, but given the popularity of the “Jupiter” brand, TVS may name Jupiter Electric, just how Honda and Suzuki has utilised their strong nameplates — Activa and Access — for their respective e-scooters. If it does, JuJupiter will be the first two-wheeler to be available in petrol, CNG and electric versions. The CNG version of the Jupiter is already in the works.
