KTM has been spotted testing multiple new 990 models, which include a supermoto, a naked roadster, and a fully-faired sportbike. While KTM still offers the 790 and 890 range, the 990 series will become the most popular choice for many, as it offers more power and meets the latest emission norms that are strangling motorcycle performance globally.
New KTM 990 models

The first model KTM was snapped testing was the fully-faired 990 RC R motorcycle. Taking inspiration from the RC 8C, the motorcycle features a full fairing with winglets, a side-mounted exhaust, clip-on bars, and an aggressive riding position, unlike sport-tourers, hinting at its sporty nature.

The next model on test was the 990 SMT, a big capacity supermoto, what KTM is known for. The new KTM 990 SMT features long travel suspension with road-biased tyres, an upright riding position, a high-mounted fairing like an adventure bike, a single LED headlight, and a bash plate. The motorcycle gets USD forks which will most likely be fully adjustable, a monoshock at the rear, alloy wheels, and more.

Now, the third motorcycle on test was the 990 Duke, which seems to be on test for something else other than the whole motorcycle itself, since it looks identical to the recently launched 990 Duke. KTM could be testing components such as hardware or electronics of some sort.
All three motorcycles will be powered by the same engine, a 947cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 990 Duke and the RC R models could have the engine tuned to make 128bhp and 103Nm of torque, but the SMT could see a slightly detuned engine owing to its nature.
