KTM launched the new-gen 390 Adventure after a long wait earlier this year. Now, the Austrian brand is all geared up to launch its first endurance bike in India. After making its debut at the last edition of EICMA in Milan followed by the India Bike Week (IBW) in December 2024, the KTM 390 Enduro will soon make its way to the Indian roads.
KTM has teased the 390 Enduro R on its social media handles, hinting at its imminent launch soon. The short video shows the rider testing the capabilities of the Enduro R to its full limits, gunning the motorcycle at high speeds over treacherous terrains. Unlike an adventure bike, an enduro bike is designed to tackle all off-road scenarios at relatively higher speeds.
KTM 390 Enduro R: Design
The design of the 390 Enduro leans more towards a dirt bike than a traditional adventure motorcycle, featuring a front headlight cowl reminiscent of the KTM 690 Enduro R. It sports a high-mounted front fender and stripped-down bodywork to keep weight to a minimum, enhancing its off-road performance. What stands out the most is that the 390 Enduro R is fully road-legal in India.

KTM 390 Enduro R: Hardware
Similar to the 390 Adventure, the Enduro 390 R is built on a split trellis frame and features a specially engineered die-cast swingarm for added strength and durability. It rides on Metzeler Karoo 5 tyres — 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-18 at the rear — mounted on spoke wheels. Braking duties are handled by a 285 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, both equipped with switchable ABS.
The Enduro R is fitted with 43 mm WP Apex front forks offering 230 mm of travel, matched by 230 mm of travel at the rear, with full adjustability at both ends. Purpose-built for off-road adventures, it features a tall seat height of 890 mm and an impressive ground clearance of 272 mm.
KTM 390 Enduro R: Features & Powertrain
The Enduro 390 R boasts a 4.1-inch TFT instrument cluster with phone connectivity via Bluetooth. The motorcycle will also feature music accessibility, turn-by-turn navigation, and app connectivity. Other features include a switchable dual-channel ABS and full LED illumination.

Powering the Enduro 390 R is the same 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that currently powers the 390 Duke and the new 390 Adventure range. The engine makes 45.3bhp and 39 Nm of peak torque while being paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch and bi-directional quick shifter.
