KTM is all geared up to launch its first endurance motorcycle in India this month. After making its debut at India Bike Week (IBW) 2024, the KTM 390 Enduro R is all set to hit the market later in the coming few weeks. Recently, the Austrian bikemaker has teased the off-road focussed machine on its social media handles.
Ahead of its launch on April 11, all key specifications of the KTM 390 Enduro R have been revealed. The specifications reveal that the India-spec 390 Enduro R is different from the international-spec model. This has been done primarily to suit Indian riding conditions.

KTM 390 Enduro R: Same same but different
The India-spec Enduro R borrows most of its components from the recently launched new-gen 390 Adventure. Hence, the India-spec 390 Enduro R gets the same WP Apex-sourced suspension setup as the latter with a travel of 200mm/205mm (F/R). The international-spec 390 Enduro R employs the same WP Apex component but with greater travel of 230mm at both ends.

The lower suspension travel has resulted in two major changes in dimensions. Firstly, the seat height has gone from 890mm and 846mm, making it more accessible to shorter riders. Adversely, the ground clearance has gone down from 272mm to 253mm. The structural changes made have also reduced the wheelbase by 5mm. With India-specific inclusions such as engine crash guards (as standard), saree guard, and pillion grab rails, dry weight has gone up 11 kg, measuring 170 kg.
It rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked tubeless wheels but the India-spec bike is shod with Mitas Enduro Trail+ semi-knobbies. Rest of details are similar to the international-spec 390 Enduro R. Hence, braking duties are handled by 285mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes. The 390 Enduro R is built on a steel trellis main frame and a die-cast aluminium subframe, pivoted by a die-cast swingarm, just like the 390 Adventure.
