The much-anticipated KTM 390 Adventure X has finally been launched at a price of Rs 2,91,140. True to expectations, KTM has loaded this bike with a range of features and updates, offering it in two trims. The 390 Adventure X is the road-biased variant, while the 390 Adventure is designed for off-road enthusiasts. For this comparison, we will focus on the 390 Adventure X, which goes head-to-head with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
KTM 390 Adventure X
The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X is built on a Split Trellis Frame and features 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless alloy wheels. With a ground clearance of 227mm and a seat height of 825mm, it offers a comfortable ride for most riders. The bike also comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display that offers navigation, while the Quickshifter+ ensures smooth, seamless gear shifts.
For added safety, the 390 Adventure X includes advanced electronic features like Ride-by-wire and Off-Road ABS, improving control in challenging conditions. It is powered by the same engine found in the 390 Duke — a 399cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is constructed with a twin-spar tubular frame. It features 43mm upside-down front forks offering a 200mm of travel, while the rear boasts a Showa mono-shock with the same 200mm of wheel travel. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, and now, for added convenience, it offers optional tubeless tyres. The braking system includes a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc, complemented by switchable rear ABS.

The Himalayan 450 comes with a 4-inch round TFT display, integrating a Google Maps-powered navigation system, phone connectivity, music controls, and call management, giving riders a seamless tech experience.
Under the hood, the Himalayan 450 is powered by a 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
