After officially unveiling the new 1390 Super Duke a few months ago, KTM has been seen testing the new 1390 Super Duke GT, the touring version of the 1390 series. As the image shows, it borrows a lot of design elements from the new 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke, and here’s what to expect.

KTM 1390 Super Duke GT: Platform and design

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT will be based on a new frame and gets an aluminium subframe to suit the nature of the motorcycle. That said, it will feature the same headlight design that the 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R carry, however, it gets a tall windscreen.

Other design elements include aggressive tank shrouds, a large fuel tank and a slightly upright riding posture compared to the Super Duke R. The motorcycle looks nearly finished, and other details could emerge when the new 1390 Super Duke GT officially breaks cover.

KTM 1390 Super Duke GT: Equipment and features

The motorcycle gets a semi-active USD fork at the front, a monoshock at the rear, 17-inch wheels (carried over from the Super Duke R), Brembo brakes at both ends with dual channel ABS, LED lighting, cornering lamps, and more.

In terms of electronic nannies, expect the GT to get the full suite, as it will be the company’s flagship road-focused tourer. This will include various levels of traction control, wheelie control, slide control, cornering ABS, phone connectivity, and much more.

KTM 1390 Super Duke GT: Engine specifications

Coming to the meaty part of the new Super Duke GT — engine. The motorcycle uses the new engine that the Super Duke R gets, a 1350cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that makes 188bhp and 145Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter.

KTM has no official numbers for acceleration and top speed, but we can say that it will be ‘quick’ and ‘enough’. The motorcycle is expected to make its European debut this year. Will the KTM 1390 Super Duke GT be launched in India? The answer is a no.
