The adventure motorcycle segment is growing and the latest to join the league is Kawasaki, with the Versys-X 300. While the motorcycle looks every inch a Versys, under the skin, it’s a Ninja. Kawasaki has proved the new Versys-X 300 at Rs 3.80 lakh, ex-showroom.
Kawasaki Versys-X 300: More details
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 features a typical adventure motorcycle design with a tall fairing and a single-piece seat. It gets a tall visor to keep the wind off the rider, an up-swept side-mounted exhaust, a single headlight, and a wide handlebar.
The new Versys-X 300 is suspended by telescopic forks, a monoshock at the rear, gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, wire-spoke wheels, and runs a 19-17 setup. Unlike the Himalayan and the KTM 390 Adventure, the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 runs on tubed wheels.

Kawasaki Versys-X 300: Engine specifications and competition
The new Versys-X 300 is powered by the same engine that does its duty in the Ninja 300 — a 296cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine loves to be revved and makes the Versys a great touring motorcycle.
Versys-X 300 | Specifications |
Engine | 296cc, liquid-cooled, twin |
Power | 38.5 bhp |
Torque | 26 Nm |

In terms of competition, the new Kawasaki Versys-X 300 rivals the new KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. However, the Versys carries a much higher price tag compared to both of them.
