
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Kawasaki is planning to launch new models in India in 2017. The company will launch updated Ninja 650, Z650 and Z900, which will replace ER-6N, Ninja 650 and Z800 currently in the India portfolio. Recently, we also brought you a report on W800 spotted at the dealership and the retro-themed motorcycle might launch next year.
Kawasaki showcased the updated the Ninja 650 at the 2016 Intermot in Germany, Based on the ER-6F, the motorcycle has received mechanical and electronic updates. The new Ninja 650 has shed 19 kg, which will increase fuel efficiency by 6.8 percent. The 2017 Ninja 650 is powered by a 650cc parallel twin-motor, which produces 69 hp of power and mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch. The motorcycle’s engine now receives longer header pipes and 36 mm throttle bodies. Along with this, the manufacturer has redesigned intake and exhaust cams of the motorcycle. The company has also worked on the brakes of the Ninja 650 and ABS will be standard.

Another motorcycle to be launch is Kawasaki Z650, which will replace the ER-6n, the naked Z650 was showcased at the 2016 EICMA. Based on the styling of Z family, the Z650 is powered by a 650cc parallel, twin-motor, which is same as on the Ninja 650. The Z650 gets a new tensile frame with a 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and preload adjustment mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties will be done by dual semi-floating 300 mm petal disc at front and  a single 220 mm petal unit at the rear with ABS. The motorcycle has shed the weight by 6 kg and now it is 187 kg and has a seat height of 790 mm.
Kawasaki Z900 showcased at the 2016 Thai Motor show, the naked motorcycle will replace Z800. The middleweight motorcycle is powered by a 948 cc liquid cooled, a four-cylinder motor that churns out 125 hp of power and 98.6 Nm max torque mated to a 6-speed transmission. The Z900 gets 41 mm upside-down front forks and horizontal back-link mono-shock at the rear. The motorcycle has  seat height of 794 mm and weighs 210 kgs.
