Jawa 42 FJ: What’s new?
Styling-wise the 42 FJ is similar to the standard 42 with minor differences, however, the former gets completely different mechanicals. It carries forward the sporty neo-retro styling of the standard 42 featuring round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and squared side panels with 42 brand, and a single-piece seat.
That said, the new 42 FJ gets a slightly shorter rear fender, split pillion grab rails, and blacked-out upswept twin exhaust mufflers as opposed to parallel units offered in the regular 42. Another notable addition is a first-in-segment brushed aluminium inserts on the fuel tank which give the bike a beefier look.

It is available in five colour options— Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black Matte Black Clad, and Deep Black Matte Red Clad. However, the biggest change will be a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 350 Alpha2 engine which kicks out 29 bhp and 29.6 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
Based on an updated dual-cradle frame, the new 42 FJ sits on thicker 41mm telescopic front forks, and twin shock absorbers with 135mm and 100mm travel, respectively. The 42 FJ also gets a larger 320mm disc brake up front and a wider 140mm section rear tyre. It has a seat height of 790mm and a ground clearance of 178mm.
Jawa 42 FJ: What’s similar?
The equipment on Jawa 42 FJ is more or less similar to the standard 42 which was recently updated. This includes features such as a full-LED illumination, a USB charging port, and a fully-digital instrument console. The new Jawa 42 FJ will go up against the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350 RS.
