Classic Legends recently upgraded their standard Jawa with a few cosmetic changes and a major mechanical change. Called Jawa 350, this classic retro motorcycle now gets a larger 334cc engine from Perak, 42 Bobber, and the Yezdi lineup. However, for the Jawa classic, this motor receives a completely different mapping from its siblings.
As a result, it is now a much closer rival to the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the recently launched Honda CB350. Let us check out how the new Jawa 350 fares against its primary modern retro rivals from the 350cc segment.
Jawa 350 vs RE Classic 350 Vs Honda CB350: Dimensions
All three bikes look as retro as modern bikes could look and yet they can’t be mistaken for anything else. Other than styling, which is purely a subjective preference, all three models differentiate from each other when it comes to dimensions. Jawa 350 gets the longest wheelbase, which should provide better stability on straight roads. It also gets the most accessible seat height of 790mm.
Dimensions | Jawa 350 | Royal Enfield Classic 350 | Honda CB350 |
Wheelbase | 1449 mm | 1390mm | 1441mm |
Ground Clearance | 178mm | 170mm | 165mm |
Fuel Tank Capacity | 13.2-litres | 13-litres | 15.2-litres |
Seat Height | 790 mm | 805mm | 800mm |
Kerb Weight | 194 kg | 195 kg | 181 kg |
Further, Jawa gets the highest ground clearance of 178mm among its rivals. CB350 is lightest and Classic 350 is the heaviest at 195 kg. CB350 also gets the largest fuel tank with a 15.2-litre capacity.
Jawa 350 vs RE Classic 350 Vs Honda CB350: Features
All three models aren’t techno savvy by any means but still offer all basic functionalities of a modern two-wheeler like dual-channel ABS, and analogue instrument console with a digital inset. However, Honda aces in this department with features like, all-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity with navigation, calls and text alerts, traction control, a C-type charging port.

Classic 350 gets an optional turn-by-turn navigation via an accessory Tripper pod but misses out on a slip and assist clutch which is available in the other two models.
Jawa 350 vs RE Classic 350 Vs Honda CB350: Hardware
All three motorcycles here use more or less very similar cycle parts with a suspension setup comprising telescopic forks up front and twin rear shock absorbers. CB350 gets the largest front disc whereas Classic 350 offers the largest rear disc. Both Royal Enfield and Honda opt for 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup whereas Jawa opts for a size smaller with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear setup.
Hardware specs | Jawa 350 | Royal Enfield Classic 350 | Honda CB350 |
Front suspension | 35mm telescopic fork with 135mm wheel travel | 41mm telescopic fork with 130mm wheel travel | Telescopic fork |
Rear suspension | Twin shock absorbers with 100mm wheel travel | Twin shock absorbers | Twin shock absorbers |
Front brake | 280mm disc brake | 300mm disc brake | 310mm disc brake |
Rear brake | 240mm rear disc brake | 270mm rear disc brake / 153mm drum brake | 240mm disc brake |
Front tyre | 100 / 90-18 | 100/90 – 19 | 100/90-19 |
Rear tyre | 130 / 80-17 | 120/80 – 18 | 130/70-18 |
Another thing to note is that Jawa offers wire-spoked wheels and Honda offers alloy wheels in CB350. On the other hand, Classic 350 offers both wire-spoked and alloy wheels, depending on the variant opted.
Jawa 350 vs RE Classic 350 Vs Honda CB350: Powertrain
Jawa offers the highest power output, albeit at a higher rpm, among the three models despite having the smallest displacement of 334cc. This is because the other two models are air/oil-cooled whereas Jawa gets a liquid-cooled mill. Torque outputs are very close to each other.
Powertrain specs | Jawa 350 | Royal Enfield Classic 350 | Honda CB350 |
Engine | 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine | 349cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine | 348.36cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine |
Power | 22 bhp @ 7,000rpm | 20 bhp @ 6,100rpm | 20.7 bhp @ 5,500rpm |
Torque | 28.1Nm @ 5,000rpm | 27Nm @ 4,000rpm | 30Nm @ 3,000rpm |
Gearbox | 6-speed | 5-speed | 5-speed |
Jawa offers the best power-to-weight ratio. It also gets a 6-speed gearbox as compared to 5-speed units offered in the other two models.
Jawa 350 vs RE Classic 350 Vs Honda CB350: Price
As expected, all three models are very closely matched as far as pricing is concerned. Interestingly, Classic 350 offers the most affordable as well as the most expensive variant in this lineup, which suggests that it offers the most number of trims. Jawa on the other hand offers its 350 in a single trim, whereas Honda CB350 is available in two trims– DLX and DLX Pro.
