Traditionally, Jawa and Royal Enfield have always been at loggerheads, but recently, the latter has become a global giant while the former is in a re-establishment journey. Yet both iconic brands hold a special place in the Indian two-wheeler history. Reviving this legendary rivalry, the Jawa 350 Legacy Edition has recently launched and we pit it against the segment leader, the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

With the Jawa 350 completing a year in the Indian market, the company launched a special trim, the Jawa Legacy Edition. For the first 500 customers, the retro motorcycle is available at an introductory price of Rs 1,98,950, ex-showroom. The motorcycle comes in Maroon Chrome, Black Chrome, Mystique Orange Chrome, Stunning Deep Forest, Grey, and Obsidian Black.

The Classic 350 range starts from Rs 1,93,080 to Rs 2,30,000 and is available in multiple colour options like Redditch Grey, Redditch Red, Jodhpur Blue, Madras Red, Medallion Bronze, Commando Sand, Gun Grey, Stealth Black and Emerald.

The Legacy Edition gets additional goodies over the standard Jawa 350 like a touring visor, a pillion backrest, a crash guard, a leather keychain, and a Jawa miniature model. The bike is as basic as it can be as there’s no USB charging port and the instrument console is completely analogue. It houses a speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge and indicator light symbol. 

The Classic 350 gets a traditional analogue speedometer with an LCD display that has a gear indicator, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter and an eco indicator. It is also equipped with a Type-C charging port. Classic 350 owners can opt for a tripper system as an optional feature, which can be synced with your mobile phone for turn-by-turn navigation and receive SMS and call alerts. 

Jawa 350 Legacy Edition vs Royal Enfield Classic 350: Engine 

The Jawa 350 Legacy Edition is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with an output of 22 bhp and 28.1 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Based on a double cradle chassis like the Classic 350, the Jawa 350 gets 35mm telescopic front forks and twin gas shock absorbers at the rear. It has a seat height of 790mm, 280mm front disc brake and 240mm rear disc brake. 

The Classic 350 gets a 349cc air-cooled J Series powertrain with 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm at 4000rpm. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, it comes with 41mm front forks and twin rear shockers. The brake system has a 300 mm front disc brake and a 270mm disc at the rear. The Royal Enfield is available in both single and dual-channel ABS, while the Jawa comes standard with the latter.
