KTM has been spotted testing a few motorcycles, and the one that raises questions is the latest adventure tourer, which looks like the upcoming KTM 1490 Super Adventure. The KTM 1490 Super Adventure still looks raw, meaning its launch will take a while, and here’s what we know so far.
KTM 1490 Super Adventure
KTM recently updated its flagship engine from 1290 and 1390, which now powers the Super Duke, the recently spied GT, and other models. However, the 1490 seems more interesting, since it will be the largest displacement motorcycle from KTM, and going by the spy shots, it has presence.Â
The motorcycle gets vertically stacked headlights, similar to the new 990 Duke, and a large fairing with cornering lights. The motorcycle gets a low-mounted fuel tank to keep the weight towards the centre, and the motorcycle narrows towards the rear. The new 1490 Super Adventure gets a side-mounted exhaust and most parts, including the swingarm, look like it’s still under development.
KTM will not be launching the 1490 Super Adventure anytime soon, going by reports, as the 1390s have just been introduced. Speaking about the engine, the 1490 will be powered by a liquid-cooled twin that will most likely make over 200bhp, given that the current 1390 makes almost 190bhp.
