Days after Honda announced a recall for the Gold Wing, CBR 600 RR, and 1000 RR, the Japanese two-wheeler maker announced another recall, this time for the new Transalp adventure motorcycle. The Honda Transalp was launched recently, after making its debut at EICMA in 2022.
Honda Transalp recall
Coming back to the recall, Honda says that the main spring that holds the centre stand could fail, in either the raised or lowered position. If it fails in the raised position, it could drag on the road, making it dangerous, while if it fails in the lowered position, the motorcycle could fall.
Honda says that the recall is for motorcycles sold in Germany only and is made between 24 January 2023 and 1 December 2023, without revealing how many motorcycles are actually affected. This centre stand issue could have affected Transalps sold in other European countries as well.
That brings us to India, as the Honda Transalp is sold here as well. However, Transalp’s sales in India are low, and if such an issue occurs, Honda could sort it out with the customers directly. The Honda Transalp is priced at Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom.
