The adventure touring segment has gained impetus in the Indian biking community in the last few years and hence we have seen so many ADV motorcycles launched in the last decade. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has now launched the NX200 in India at a price of Rs 1,68,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It replaces the CB200X which was launched in 2020 but could never set the sales chart on fire. The NX200 gets a slightly different design and some more features over its predecessor, however, underneath it remains the same. The NX200 will be available for sale in both Honda Red Wing as well as Big Wing showrooms.
Honda NX200: Design & Features
The NX200 takes its design inspiration from the larger NX500 and looks more bulky than the outgoing CB200X courtesy of the front fairing. Like a typical adventure tourer, the NX200 gets a large front end with a tall windscreen and golden-coloured fork. The muscular fuel tank with extended shrouds gives the bike a very aggressive stance. Other visual highlights split seats, knuckle guards, a floating tail section, split pillion grab rails, an engine sump guard, and a stubby upswept exhaust muffler.
Honda is offering NX200 in a single, fully-loaded variant with three colour options namely: Athletic Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black. In terms of features, Honda NX200 comes kitted with a 4.2-inch full-digital TFT display compatible with Bluetooth connectivity and Honda RoadSync app.riders to access navigation, receive call notifications, and SMS alerts. It also benefits from a USB C-type charging port and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) which is the company’s lingo for traction control.
Honda NX200: Hardware & Powertrain specs
Suspension duties are handled by upside down front forks and a preload adjustable rear monoshock. Anchorage is taken care of by a 276mm front disc and a rear 220mm disc complemented by dual-channel ABS. The NX200 rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends which suggest that it is merely a road-biased tourer. It gets a ground clearance of 167mm, a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and weighs in at 147kg kerb.
Powering the Honda NX200 is a 184.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which pushes out 17bhp and 15.7 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
