Honda has been on a roll, patenting several two-wheelers in India recently and the recent one is the NT1100, a touring motorcycle focused for road use. The Honda NT1100 is on sale in the international markets and it would be interesting to see if it comes to India. Let’s take a closer look at the new Honda NT1100 to make sense if Honda could bring it here.
Honda NT1100 — What is it?
The Honda NT1100 is a road-focused tourer, featuring a tall fairing, wide seats, a wide handlebar, and a big windscreen. The motorcycle features an upright riding position, perfect for long hours on the saddle. The motorcycle’s unique front headlight design makes it stand out, giving it a sporty design.
The motorcycle is suspended by Showa electronic suspension at both ends that adjusts itself based on the ride modes, runs on 17-inch alloy wheels front and rear, gets disc brakes at both ends, a 5-step adjustable windscreen, and a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console.

On the features front, there is a long list. The Honda NT1100 gets a 6-axis IMU, which brings a host electronic aids such as multiple riding modes, cruise control, cornering ABS, rear wheel lift control, and more. The motorcycle features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Honda NT1100 — Should Honda bring it here?
Given the Indian market and its love for large adventure bikes and also considering Honda’s lineup here which includes the Africa Twin, Transalp 750, and even the Gold Wing, the NT110 will make sense, giving riders an alternative to the BMW S 1000 XR and the new Kawasaki Versys 1100. Also, since the motorcycle shares the same engine as the Africa Twin, Honda could have a firm stepping stone to bring the motorcycle here.
