Honda CB300R recalled — Here’s why

Honda has issued a voluntary recall for the CB300R in India, which was made between 2018 and 2020.

Honda has issued a recall for the CB300R in India. The voluntary recall affects motorcycles made between 2018 and 2020, and Honda says that the BigWing dealerships are getting in touch with customers regarding the recall, and alternatively, customers can also check if their vehicles are part of the voluntary recall by checking the VIN on the official Honda website.

Honda CB300R recalled — What’s the reason?

Honda says that the recall is regarding the headlight of the motorcycle. As per Honda’s official statement, ‘a concern in the internal PCB structure of the motorcycle’s headlight. The core wires could suffer a fatigue break at the root of the terminals, resulting in the headlight flickering or shutting off.’ The headlight turning off during the night is a concern for the rider.

The Honda CB300R received its last update in 2023 and has remained unchanged since then. Its larger sibling – the Honda CB650R – received an update late last year and was launched in India as well, alongside the Honda CBR650R.

The Honda CB300R is powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 30.7 bhp and 27.5Nm of peak torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, 17-inch wheels, and disc brakes at both ends. The CB300R gets an LCD instrument cluster and is currently priced at Rs 2.40 lakh, ex-showroom.
