After a long anticipation, the fully-electric Honda Activa has finally broken covers in its full and final form. Officially called Activa e:, prices for the battery-powered scooter will be announced sometime early next year. Bookings for the Activa electric will commence from 1 January 2025 while deliveries are expected to begin February onwards.
Honda Activa Electric: Design
While Honda retains the classic silhouette of the Activa in its latest offered, its all-electric namesake has a visibly distinct identity with its front apron mounted LED headlamp, a smiling DRL strip on the handlebar, a single-piece dual-tone seat, a chunky pillion grab rail, 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a sleek LED taillamps, and a flat floorboard.

The e-scooter is available in five colour options namely Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black colours. Overall, the Activa e: looks a lot sleeker than its petrol-powered sibling.
Honda Activa Electric: Features
Honda is offering a good amount of tech with the new Activa Electric like a 7.0-inch TFT instrument panel that comes with day and night modes to optimise screen’s brightness and readability as per ambient light automatically. The TFT screen can be controlled by using toggle switches placed on the handlebar.Â
It also comes with a smart key that offers features like Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock and Smart Start. The Activa Electric comes in two variants, the top-spec trim comes with Honda RoadSync Duo application that offers real-time connectivity and navigation.

Honda Activa Electric: Swappable battery
The biggest highlight in the fully-electric Activa is the swappable battery technology making Honda one of the few mainstream two-wheeler manufacturers in India to offer the same. Called the Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, the portable batteries have been developed and maintained by Honda Power Pack Energy India.
The Activa e: comes with two such swappable batteries, each of 1.5 kWh capacity promising a combined range of 102 km on a single charge. Honda will also launch its own battery sharing service called Honda e:Swap which has already gone live in Bengaluru and Delhi slated to open in Mumbai soon.

Coming back to the powertrain, the Activa e: is powered by an in-house developed permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that delivers 6 kW of peak power and 22 Nm of torque for impressive performance. It can sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 80 kmph. There are three riding modes on offer namely Econ, Standard and Sport.
