Honda Activa e vs Suzuki e-Access: Battery Specifications

Honda is the second top EV player in the market to opt for swappable battery technology

The Activa e and e-Access are direct rivals, but the two Japanese companies have taken different paths for their electric scooters. Honda is the second top EV player in the market to opt for swappable battery technology after Hero Vida. The Activa e comes with two 1.5 kWh swappable lithium-ion batteries and a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that delivers 6 kW (8 bhp) of peak power and 22 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 80 kmph. The Activa e gets three riding modes — Econ, Standard and Sport. According to Honda, the electric scooter offers a range of 102 km on a single charge. Unfortunately, the swappable batteries cannot be charged at home, and one has to take the scooter to a Honda e:SWAP station and swap the depleted battery with a fully charged one.

The e-Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery offering a claimed IDC range of 95 km with an energy consumption of 39 Wh/km. It gets a 4.1 kW electric motor producing 15 Nm torque, enabling a top speed of 71 kmph. The scooter features three drive modes: Eco, Ride A, and Ride B. The Suzuki electric scooter charges from 0 – 100% in 6 hours and 42 minutes, and with a DC fast charger, it juices up from 0 – 80% in 1.2 hours.
