The two-wheeler industry has come a long way, especially for those who were used to hearing Hero Honda and now, Hero vs Honda. That’s exactly what’s happening in the industry, with the two automotive giants battling it out for the top spot in one of the largest two-wheeler markets in the world.
The two companies have been swapping positions to be on top, and in August 2025, Hero reigns supreme in terms of sales. So here’s a look at sales of Hero MotoCorp and Honda in August 2025.
Hero MotoCorp sales August 2025
Last month, Hero MotoCorp dispatched a total of 5,53,727 motorcycles and scooters, witnessing an 8 percent growth compared to August 2024, when the company registered 5,12,360 units. Out of total dispatches, domestic sales of scooters and two-wheelers accounted for 5,12,360 units.
In August 2025, Hero sold 5,01,523 motorcycles and 52,204 scooters in the domestic market. In comparison, Hero MotoCorp sold 4,78,215 motorcycles and 34,145 scooters in the domestic market in August 2024. For Hero, the best-seller is the Splendor, which has been so for a very long time. Hero banks big on commuter motorcycles, and sales numbers prove the same.
Honda two-wheeler sales August 2025
Honda’s total sales stood at 5,34,861 units in August 2025. This includes 4,81,021 units in domestic sales and 53,840 units in exports. For reference, Honda’s sales in August 2024 were 5,38,852 units. Unlike Hero MotoCorp, Honda’s best-seller is a scooter, the Activa. The Activa also leads the segment in terms of sales, and is available in two variants.
With the upcoming festive season and Honda’s new product offering in terms of the CB 125 Hornet and the Shine 100 DX, tables can turn for the Japanese manufacturer. However, Hero’s got an extensive offering in the commuter segment that caters to older and younger audiences.
Hero is also stepping up its EV game with the range of Vida scooters on sale, which registered sales of 12,275 units in August 2025, while Honda’s EV offering – Activa e and QC 1 – are yet to make an impact in the segment. The Honda QC 1 currently outsells the all-electric Avtiva, primarily owing to the restricted availability of the latter.
