Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch its next electric scooter under the Vida brand. The new Vida VX2 is slated to get launched on July 1. Ahead of its debut, the company has been actively teasing the upcoming electric scooter on its social media platform.

Earlier this month, Hero MotoCorp announced that it has roped in Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor as faces for the company’s new advertising campaign for the upcoming Vida VX2. Now, the largest Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has announced that the VX2 will be offered with a new subscription-based model as well.

Hero Vida VX2 with BaaS

According to the release shared by Hero MotoCorp, the Vida VX2 will be offered with a subscription-based Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, similar to what JSW MG Motor launched with the Windsor EV last year. Essentially, at the time of purchase, buyers will pay for the scooter without paying the price for the battery. The battery can be leased on a ‘pay per usage’ basis.

In addition to its flexible ‘pay-as-you-go’ ownership model, this innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription solution is poised to substantially lower the initial cost of ownership, thereby enhancing the affordability and accessibility of electric mobility for a broader segment of consumers.

The model enables customers to finance the scooter chassis and battery independently, effectively transforming substantial upfront capital requirements into manageable monthly installments. Furthermore, customers can select from a range of subscription plans designed to align with their specific daily or monthly financial and usage needs, thereby offering increased affordability, convenience, and assurance in electric vehicle ownership.

Under this model, VIDA customers will benefit from enhanced choice, improved cost efficiency, and access to VIDA’s expanding and robust nationwide ecosystem, which currently comprises more than 3,600 fast-charging stations and over 500 service points across 100+ cities. By eliminating traditional obstacles and redefining the electric vehicle ownership experience, VIDA seeks to democratize electric mobility, delivering unparalleled convenience, flexibility, and confidence to its customers.

Hero Vida VX2: Expected Specifications

It is anticipated that the forthcoming VX2 will retain most of the features and specifications from the existing V2 lineup.
