Hero Vida VX2 price slashed by Rs 15,000: Should you buy now?

Hero MotoCorp has announced a major price cut for its Vida VX2 electric scooter lineup, making it more accessible with the Battery as a Service (BaaS) model.

Hero MotoCorp recently launched its most affordable electric scooter, the Vida VX2 range, which is one of the first in the market to offer BaaS (Battery as a Service). There’s good news for those interested in buying an electric scooter, as Hero has slashed the prices of the Vida VX2 by Rs 15,000. With this limited offer, the Vida VX2 Go trims start from Rs 44,990, ex-showroom. To avail of this offer, customers have to buy the electric scooter with BaaS.

On July 1, Hero MotoCorp unveiled the prices of the new Vida VX2 portfolio. It is available in two variants — VX2 Go and VX2 Plus, which were priced at Rs 59,490 and Rs 64,990 with BaaS, ex-showroom, respectively. With the new limited offer, the VX2 Go gets Rs 15,000 off and the VX2 Plus gets Rs 10,000 off. There are no changes in the price without BaaS for the two Vida VX2 scooters. The VX2 Go continues to cost Rs 99,490, and the VX2 Plus is Rs 109,990, ex-showroom, respectively. Hero MotoCorp has not mentioned the time limit for the new BaaS offer.

Hero Vida VX2: Specifications and Features

The Vida VX2 Go is powered by a 2.2 kWh single removable battery with an IDC range of 92 km. According to Hero MotoCorp, it does 0 – 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 70 kmph. It is equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD digital display and has two ride modes — Eco and Ride. The company revealed that in Eco mode, the VX2 Go returns 64 km, and in Ride mode, 48 km. It has an underseat storage capacity of 33.2 litres and a 4.8-litre frunk. It charges from 0 to 100% in 3 hours and 53 minutes and from 0 to 80% in 2 hours and 41 minutes. The scooter can be fast-charged from 0 to 80% in 62 minutes.

The top model, the VX2 Plus, has two removable batteries with a capacity of 3.4 kWh and an IDC range of 142 km. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 80 kmph. The VX2 Plus is available in three ride modes — Eco, Ride and Sports — with top speeds of 45 kmph, 70 kmph and 80 kmph, respectively. According to Hero, the VX2 Plus returns a range of 100 km in Eco mode, 75 km in Ride and 65 km in Sports. The VX2 Plus has an under-seat storage of 27.2 litres, a 4.8-litre frunk storage and a 4.3-inch TFT display. It charges from 0 to 100% in 5 hours and 39 minutes and from 0 to 80% in 4 hours and 13 minutes. It can be fast-charged from 0 to 80% in 62 minutes. The VX2 Plus can be fast-charged from 0 to 80% in 62 minutes.

Both scooters offer a turn-by-turn navigation system, all LED lights, a power output of 6 kW, a seat height of 777 mm and a seat length of 851 mm.
