Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its most affordable electric scooter in the market. Called Vida VX2, prices for the e-scooter start at Rs 59,490 (ex-showroom), however, there’s a catch. This price is applicable for the scooter only and not for the battery. With the launch of Vida VX2, Hero has become the first major OEM to offer an electric two-wheeler with a battery subscription module.
The Vida VX2 is available in two variants: Go and Plus. Each trim can be had with either a Battery as a Service (BaaS) option or a full ownership where the battery price is part of the initial purchase cost. Those who opt for the BaaS scheme will need to pay a rent of Rs 0.96 per km for the battery.
| VX2 Go | VX2 Plus | |
| With BaaS | Rs 59,490 | Rs 64,990 |
| Without BaaS | Rs 99,490 | Rs 1,09,990 |
The Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme by VIDA offers a Pay-per-km subscription model, removing high upfront costs and making EV ownership more affordable. Customers benefit from tailored plans, seamless ownership, and added peace of mind. The package includes complimentary battery replacement if performance drops below 70% and access to VIDA’s extensive fast-charging network throughout the subscription period.
