Taiwanese technology firm Gogoro Inc. officially set foot in India by launching its first electric scooter in India. Named Crossover, this scooter will initially cater to the B2B segment, specifically for last mile services. Referred to as SUV of scooters, Gogora interestingly hasn’t announced prices for the Crossover yet.
Gogoro Crossover launched
Besides the new e-scooter, the EV brand has unveiled its battery swapping stations which will be installed across the country phase wise. Initially, the Crossover and battery swapping network will be made available in Delhi and Goa by end of this year. Availability will be further expanded to Mumbai and Pune in the first half of 2024.

Built out of Gogoro’s local production facility at Aurangabad in Maharashtra, the Crossover is available in three derivatives including GX250, CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S. Gogoro says that the CrossOver GX250 is immediately available for sale today while the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S are scheduled to launch sometime next year.
Based on a modular steel ‘all-terrain’ frame, the Gogoro range carries a basic, utilitarian design that goes well with its last mile purpose. Giving it a unique appearance is the Android-like face with a rectangular LED headlamp sticking out from the apron. The Crossover is one of the longest scooters which measures 2000mm long. It comes with a split-seat setup but Gogoro offers flexibility of using it as a single piece seat.
Gogoro Crossover specs & features
CrossOver GX250 utilises a 2.5 kW Direct Drive that provides a top speed of 60+kph and a certified range of 111 km on a single charge. Crossover 50 gets a 5kW motor whereas the top-spec Crossover S trim will get two options– 6.4kW and 7.2kW. Suspension duties are carried out by front telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It gets a 176 mm ground clearance.
Gogoro says they are eyeing to enter the B2C segment towards the end of 2024. The brand’s immediate priority is establishing a wide network of its swapping stations across the country with the help of the B2B network.
