A forum member of TeamBHP fell in love with the retro look of the new Royal Enfield Classic 650. The design took him back in time and made him all nostalgic, as it reminded him of his first motorcycle way back in 2004, the Royal Enfield Electra. A forum member under the name tag BHPian Born 2 Be Wild confessed that his enthusiasm for the motorcycle died in just 10 days and has now put it up for sale. What made him take such a drastic step? Find out.

Regret buying the Royal Enfield Classic 650?

The forum member confesses that he walked into a Royal Enfield showroom and was completely swept away by the Classic 650’s looks. Taking a decision from the heart rather than the mind, the sales advisor asked about the availability and waiting period of the Classic. After knowing that he could be riding his new motorcycle in just three days. The TeamBHP member bought the Classic 650 and rode it for 200 km, and now wants to sell it after 10 days.

Being an avid biker and used to riding premium motorcycles, the BHPian confessed that he made the cardinal sin of not taking a test ride of the Classic 650. He missed the Royal Enfield thump, which “he considered the essence and soul of an Enfield. (Sadly, the) Classic is there.” Apart from the lack of the signature exhaust note, he found the motorcycle heavy to manoeuvre in traffic. With a curb weight of 243 kg, the Classic 650 is the heaviest bike in the Royal Enfield portfolio.

He was impressed by how Royal Enfield has managed to iron out the traditional vibrations that used to plague all the bikes from this company. What disappointed him was that “the bike feels strained post 100 kmph…” He also said that the ride quality isn’t as comfortable as it used to be on earlier bikes. He added, “On the classic, I could feel the entirety of the road topography while I rode!”

On a positive note, he raved about the refinement of the engine, and it quickly crosses the 100 kmph mark. He also mentioned that the 6-speed transmission is smooth. The forum member clarified that the drastic decision to sell the bike in a mere 10 days is all about his choice and not the fault of the bike. He clearly stated, “I would say it’s mostly my fault and not the bike’s fault.”
