The new TVS Jupiter 110 takes commuting to the next level with added style and a host of segment-first features. With this, the Jupiter takes on the battle with the Honda Activa with more vengeance, making the segment more interesting.
One aspect of the new TVS Jupiter 110 that cuts a niche for itself when compared to the Honda Activa is its set of features, which the Honda does not get. Here are five features that the updated Jupiter 110 gets but not the Honda Activa.
TVS Jupiter 110 — Front fuel-filler

The new TVS Jupiter 110 has a fuel filler in the front, similar to a traditional motorcycle, making fuel fills easy. Also, the fuel tank itself is placed on the floorboard of the scooter, giving it better mass centralisation compared to the Honda Activa. The Honda Activa has moved away from its under-seat fuel filler to the rear, which is still a hassle compared to the Jupiter 110.
Boot space

Now, moving the fuel tank from under the seat to the front floorboard has given TVS more room for storage. The Jupiter can fit two helmets under the seat – half helmets – and the storage itself stands at 33-litres. This is massive for an ICE scooter, almost on par with electric scooters.
Digital instrument cluster

In the modern world, customers are looking at instrument panels as an extension of their smartphone. To address this, TVS has given the Jupiter 110 a colour LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth, call notification, voice command, and navigation. While these features come in handy, the Honda Activa misses this out and sticks to a good old analogue display.
Disc brake

The TVS Jupiter 110 is the only scooter in the segment to offer a disc brake up front. The Honda Activa sticks to drum brakes for the front and rear, while the top-spec TVS Jupiter gets a disc brake. The petal disc does a good job and offers a progressive feel while squeezing it hard. It has enough power to bring the scooter to a dead halt in no time.
Emergency stop signal

With efficient braking comes the next feature on the Jupiter, the emergency stop warning. Under hard braking, all four blinkers come on with an audible beep to warn other road users of rapid braking. This can be a lifesaver in Indian traffic conditions and the Honda Activa misses out on this feature.
