Scramblers are gaining popularity and two manufacturers who are making the most out of this opportunity are Triumph and Ducati. Triumph’s flagship scrambler offering is the Scrambler 1200X which was launched recently in India, while the Italian manufacturer offers the Scrambler 1100, which is the range topper in its Scrambler lineup.
With two big names and different approaches to the same product, the two motorcycles offer unique characteristics, and here’s how the two compare in terms of specifications and equipment.
Features and equipment
The Triumph Scrambler 1200X gets non-adjustable USD forks and a preload adjustable rear monoshock made by Marzocchi, 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, traction control, and TFT instrument console amongst others.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 gets Marzocchi fully adjustable front forks and a Kayaba monoshock at the rear, 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, an LCD instrument console, riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and more. Both motorcycles are well-equipped, but not as much compared to their full-blown adventure siblings, keeping them sophisticated, yet simple.
Engine specifications
Both are powered by twin-cylinder engines, however, they have different configurations and power outputs, giving them a unique character again. The big engine displacement is more than adequate for use in the city as well as long rides, while they are also capable off-road.
